The Compliance Engineer is tasked with certifying and maintaining compliance of SEA Electric vehicles and vehicle systems. Product compliance is responsible for identifying and developing the key materials for use in agency communications, rulemaking, and reporting activities. Product compliance communicates with the US Department of Transportation, the US Environmental Protection Agency, the California Air Resources Board, and other international agencies. Product Compliance directs, fulfills, and helps to satisfy all the requirements that are necessary to sell, service and support Sea Electric Vehicles and Vehicle systems in the US, Canada, and other export markets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complete, comprehensive, and accurate reports for the appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with the agency staff and industry associations.
- Fill the role of subject matter expert and provide guidance to the company on current regulations and proposed rulemakings.
- Maintain and adhere with established company processes and policies.
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings, quarterly and annual business unit meetings.
- Utilize, support, and enhance SEA Electric standards and best practices.
- Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by SEA Electric and clients.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 5 years of experience in product design/development
OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior experience in product compliance and/or vehicle certification required
- Automotive or On-Highway Truck design experience
